Team Setup Quickstart
This guide is for team creators — the first person setting up SageOx for their team.
Already been invited to a team? See the New Team Member Quickstart instead.
Your team does not have to work the same way on day one. Some coworkers will start in code-mode with ox. Others will connect SageOx in assistant-mode through MCP. Others will mainly use capture-mode for discussions and walkthroughs.
Prerequisites
- A SageOx account
- A git repository you want to connect
Step 1: Install the CLI
Step 2: Authenticate
This opens your browser to sign in. Credentials are stored securely on your machine.
Step 3: Connect your first repository
Navigate to your repo and initialize SageOx:
This creates a team automatically (if you don't have one) and registers your repository.
Step 4: Invite your team
Open your team page in the web app and copy the invite message. It includes:
- Your team invite link
- the repo-connected
oxpath for coworkers building in code - the docs links for coworkers who will start in assistants or through capture flows
Share it via Slack, email, or however your team communicates.
When you share it, tell people to start with the mode that matches how they actually work:
- Code-mode — install
ox, then runox loginandox initin the repos they work in - Assistant-mode — connect SageOx over MCP
- Capture-mode — start with Console Recorder or Video import
Step 5: Record a discussion
Capture team knowledge so it flows into your Team Context:
- Open the Console Recorder from your team page
- Click Start Recording
- Transcription and insights happen automatically
